Donating Shares

Donating shares to us is easy and the benefit to Mary Feilding Guild of share donations will be very much greater than the cost to the donor - very good news for both donors and the people who we help.

Any gift of shares will attract relief for the donor from both Capital Gains Tax liability payable on the shares' sale, and relief from Income Tax on the market value of the shares.

The story of Mrs. H:

Mrs. H's husband was killed in the Second World War. She worked as a buyer for a department store and shared accommodation with a friend for many years. She had no close relatives and only a war widow's pension with no other income. The Guild offered her a home and companionship.
